'It’s so clear to see': Some Arsenal fans react to Matteo Guendouzi's message to Arteta

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi spoke to France Football this week about his future at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.

The young Frenchman became an instant hit among fans in his debut season. Many expected him to be a mainstay in Arsenal’s midfield for years to come, but a fall-out with Mikel Arteta at the end of last season saw him pushed out of the club.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Guendouzi joined Hertha Berlin on loan last summer and he has had a decent campaign there. He will return to Arsenal at the end of this season and the Gunners will have to make a decision about his future considering that he will only have a year left on his contract.

Many feel that there is no way Arteta will entertain him this summer after his indiscipline last year. However, Guendouzi’s passionate message to the Arsenal boss may just change his mind.

“I’m not a bad boy, quite the contrary,” said Guendouzi.

“I’m still an Arsenal player. I belong to Arsenal for another year (until June 2022). I am here [at Hertha Berlin] to improve. From the moment that I am playing for Arsenal, I will give everything for this club, for the fans, for the team, for the staff. I will work hard for the shirt as I have always done.” (Read more here)

Some Arsenal fans urge Arteta to give Guendouzi a second chance

Arteta has made it absolutely clear that it’s either his way or you’re out. If skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang isn’t spared, nobody else will be, and Guendouzi has to understand that.

If the talented young Frenchman returns to the Emirates this summer a changed man, it could make a massive difference. We all know how high his potential is but he will have to control his attitude in a better way to convince Arteta to give him a second chance.
