Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal host Leeds United in the Premier League on Sunday in what is now a must-win game.
The Whites overtook us in the table after their win against Crystal Palace at the start of this week. Leeds are a really dangerous side to face, and we learnt that when we faced them in the return fixture earlier in the season.
Arsenal were battered by Marcelo Bielsa’s men in November. They had 25 shots against us and we were incredibly lucky to come away from that game with a point, especially after we lost Nicolas Pepe early in the second half.
Leeds will look to cause havoc again against an Arsenal side who have lost two games in a row in the Premier League. The pressure is on us to get back to winning ways, and the visitors’ style of play can make it a very difficult game for us.
Playing a Leeds side who are in good form is hard enough, but Arsenal have confirmed today that we will be without two of our most important players.
Tierney and Partey ruled out
Kieran Tierney has been out for a while and Thomas Partey hobbled off with a muscular problem last week against Villa.
Football London reported earlier this week that both players are expected to return to action against Leeds and that was a huge boost. Sadly, it has gone the opposite way and we might be in big trouble.
Arsenal fans are terrified about the prospect of Raphinha facing Cedric on the left side. Partey’s presence in midfield would’ve helped us control the game, but now that he’s out, Leeds will view this as a big opportunity to take all three points.
