A day after Arsenal’s humiliating defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League, many Gooners tuned into Tottenham’s game against Newcastle United in the hope that Spurs would cheer us up by being themselves.
Lo and behold, Jose Mourinho’s men did exactly that.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Spurs didn’t quite lose like we did to the Premier League champions on Saturday, but they were, in a way, humiliated by a side who had won just two of their last 10 games.
Tottenham dropping points certainly did cheer all Gooners up, but there is one thing that made it a whole lot sweeter. Gunners loanee Joe Willock was the man who came up with the equaliser for Newcastle, and his comments after the game were brilliant as well.
He told Sky Sports: “I am an Arsenal player and it makes it sweeter but I am happy to do my job. I feel like if we continue to play how we did today, we will have no problems staying in this league.”
Joe Willock – Arsenal through and through
The midfielder joined Arsenal as a four-and-a-half year old. He knows what it means to be a Gunner and the fact that he has had the opportunity of scoring against Tottenham – even though it’s for his loan club – is a great moment for him.
Willock didn’t quite have any dig at Tottenham in his post-match interview, but his comments about being an Arsenal man caught Gooners’ attention.
