Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked like his previous self yesterday as he helped Gabon hammer Congo to book a place in next year’s African Cup Of Nations.
The Gunners skipper has had a poor season in the Premier League. He has scored just nine times in 24 league games, which really is a shocking record for a player as good as him.
His performances against West Ham and Olympiacos before the international break were arguably his worst since Arsene Wenger signed him from Borussia Dortmund back in 2018.
Auba back to his best?
Gunners fans were really getting worried about Auba, but it looks like he’s back to his best again.
The Arsenal skipper was outstanding for Gabon last night.
He squeezed through an inch-perfect pass from his own half set up Denis Bouanga in the 72nd minute before scoring himself to wrap things up four minutes before full-time. (Watch the goal here)
CAF’s official Twitter handle tweeted out a video showing Auba’s best moves from the game. It is safe to say, Arsenal fans were delighted to see their skipper firing all cylinders.
Aubameyang’s vision for the second goal followed by his composure for his late striker is really good to see. The opposition is clearly nowhere near the quality of opponents we have in the Premier League, but his performance there would surely have given him some confidence.
Arsenal fans were blown away by Auba’s performance for Gabon last night.
