Arsenal released a statement on the official website today outlining the changes being brought in by Stan and Josh Kroenke to bring the supporters closer to the decision making process at the club.
The Gunners’ decision to sign up for the European Super League did not go down well with Arsenal fans. That led to a series of protests outside the Emirates, and the rogue competition fell apart quicker than anything football fans have ever seen before.
The movement led by the supporters forced the club to change its stance. Silent Stan remained silent as always, but his son, Josh, promised that he will do everything he possibly can to rebuild the relationship between the fans and the ownership.
Those changes have been made public now and it really is positive news.
Stan and Josh Kroenke establish the Arsenal Advisory Board
The Kroenkes have agreed to set up an Arsenal Advisory Board, exclusively comprised of Arsenal fans, to discuss predominantly off-field matters. The board will include Josh Kroenke, board member Tim Lewis, CEO Vinai Vekatesham, Community Affairs Director Mark Gonnella and Supporter Liaison Officer Mark Brindle.
The fans will be able to discuss various subjects including the direction that the club is taking, preserving the Arsenal culture, ways to fight racism and online abuse, growth of women’s football and much more.
Stan and Josh Kroenke released a joint statement saying: “We are 100 per cent committed to Arsenal for the long term and we want our fans to feel even closer to the club they love.
“The steps that are being taken here will ensure their voice is more central to the club’s decision making moving forward.”
