Some Arsenal fans had their say on Twitter after Bernd Leno returned to pre-season training from his time off.

The German international was away with his country at Euro 2020, acting as back-up to Manuel Neuer. As a result, he didn’t make a single appearance, but, was still given a period of leave.

Speculation has been building over the ace’s future at the Emirates Stadium. According to the latest reports, the 29-year-old could leave the club this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been linked with a move for Aaron Ramsdale. Reports are claiming Sheffield United want £30m + add ons for the young goalkeeper.

Leno return to pre-season spells end of mini goalkeeping crisis for Arsenal

This summer hasn’t been the best of times for the club, especially between the sticks.

The end of Mat Ryan’s loan spell meant the club had no viable number two. And with the former Bayer Leverkusen man away with his national team at Euro 2020, the club started pre-season with no senior ‘keeper.

So, you can say there’s been a mini-crisis for Arsenal between the sticks prior to Leno having returned to pre-season.

Alex Runarsson spent the second half of last season out of favour after an error-prone start to life in N5. His future seems to be away from north London.

Arthur Okonkwo has made the step up to the first team, however, his error versus Hibernian suggests he’s not ready for senior football.

The club needs to invest in a good player in goal this summer as they look to avert a full-on crisis.
