Arsenal fans’ hearts skipped a beat last night after Martin Odegaard hobbled off the pitch with an ankle injury while on international duty with Norway.
The Real Madrid man has arguably been our best player in recent weeks. He has carried Arsenal at times, and his performance against West Ham United last weekend was arguably his best since he joined us.
Odegaard’s performance will play a key part in our success this term. Winning the Europa League is the only way we can call this an acceptable season, and the Norwegian’s presence in the number 10 role will certainly make a huge difference.
Arsenal supporters were petrified about the severity of Odegaard’s injury. Thankfully, it’s good news as both the Norwegian and his national team boss Stale Solbakken confirmed that he should be available for their game on Saturday. (Read here)
Their comments post-game were amazing to hear, but there is always a fear that medical scans may pick up something serious.
Thankfully, there is good news on that front as well. Odegaard was pictured leaving the team bus today at a training centre in Marbella, and the Arsenal star looks completely healthy.
That is a huge boost for Arsenal and Norway. Odegaard is hugely important for both club and country, and the fact that he has reported to training without any visible concern is excellent news for all parties.
Arsenal fans, predictably, were delighted to hear that Odegaard hasn’t suffered a serious injury.
