Some Arsenal fans were reacting after a report emerged claiming Josh Kroenke and Mikel Arteta have contacted Bukayo Saka.
The youngster endured footballing hell last Sunday after he missed the crucial penalty in England’s Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
And if missing the spot-kick wasn’t bad enough, the 19-year-old was subjected to disgusting racial abuse on social media.
According to Daily Mail, Stan Kroenke’s son and the manager have talked to the youngster following his heartbreak. He’s also been spoken to by director Vinai Venketesham and Per Mertesacker.
Despite his heartbreak, Saka enjoyed a great tournament, setting up the equalising goal in the semi-final versus Denmark.
Insider’s View: Figures at Arsenal need to rally around Saka
After spending two years on cloud nine, the youngster’s been brought crashing back down to Earth.
His penalty miss has probably opened his eyes to the brutal realities of professional football. And in Gareth Southgate, there was no better man to console him in the immediate aftermath of his miss.
However, the figure won’t always be around to comfort the ace. This is where everyone at need Arsenal come in and comfort Saka after his torrid last few days.
Here are how fans reacted…
I was genuinely touched by how Kane and his teammates consoled him while he weeped after his miss. They may not have gotten that far without him. He’s our boy, he carried the Arsenal last year on his 19yo shoulders, gotta help pick him up and rise above the racist haters.— Zach (@MaxHardcore1980) July 13, 2021
