According to a report from The Telegraph, Arsenal are open to selling Joe Willock to Newcastle United for a fee in the region of just £20 million this summer.
Yep, you read that right. Just £20 million for a 21-year-old home grown English talent who has almost single-handedly helped Newcastle avoid relegation in his last two appearances for them.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Arsenal have a history of being a terrible selling club. The only three sales we can arguably be proud of is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool, and Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott to Everton for big money.
Apart from those, we’ve been woeful when it comes to player sales, and it looks like Edu and co are about to continue that terrible trend.
Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce claimed today that he wants to sign Willock this summer. He has vowed to have ‘big discussions’ with Arsenal over a permanent deal (read here), and it looks like that process has already started.
The Gunners have heard Bruce’s comments and we are reportedly looking to cash in.
Willock will be on the market this summer and Arsenal, much to the anger of supporters, are ready to sell him for almost half the price that we paid for Shkodran Mustafi.
