Romelu Lukaku was asked to compare Arsenal and Chelsea in his press conference yesterday ahead of the big London derby this weekend.
The Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge a few days ago. The Blues forked out a mammoth £97.5 million (Guardian) to bring him back from Inter Milan, and there’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that he’ll be a success at Chelsea.
Lukaku confirmed that he is ready to face Arsenal this weekend. He was also asked to compare where the two clubs currently are, and his response seems to have really impressed a few Gooners on social media.

Romelu Lukaku: It is difficult to compare Arsenal and Chelsea
The Belgian said, as per Football London: “Yeah (I’m fit to face Arsenal), I’ve been training and I’ve done a full pre-season. So right now, I’m just trying to get my teammates better and I’m available for the manager if he wants to play me.”
Asked to compare Arsenal and Chelsea, he said: “It is difficult to compare. They are a team that’s rebuilding.
“At the end of the day, I just look at my team and focus on the plan that we have. It is going to be a tough game but we are preparing ourselves for a battle. We won the first one and we want to keep building on the result that we had at the weekend.”
Arsenal are rebuilding
It’s just a shame that a rival player understands what’s going on at Arsenal much better than some of our own fans. Arsenal are in the middle of a massive rebuild, and that will not happen overnight.

Some Arsenal fans really liked how Lukaku dealt with that question yesterday. Here’s how a few Gooners reacted on Twitter
