The Daily Mirror revealed earlier this week that Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Leeds United are interested in signing Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The versatile Englishman is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion where he is on a mission to prove people wrong.

Maitland-Niles will return to the Emirates at the end of his loan spell next month.

However, the chances of him nailing down a regular starting spot is extremely slim, especially if he wants to play in his preferred central midfield position.

Arsenal will have to move him on this summer if he isn’t satisfied with the role that Mikel Arteta has in mind for him. Thankfully for both parties, Maitland-Niles will not be short of offers in the summer window.

Leeds United and Crystal Palace are interested in his services, while Ligue 1 side Monaco are reportedly looking at him as well. Wolves were keen last summer, while Southampton and Leicester tried hard to sign him on loan in January.

Arsenal can expect a decent fee for Maitland-Niles, especially if all of the above clubs express an interest again. Edu could well organise a bidding war to get the best deal, and it won’t be a surprise to see clubs fork out a fee in excess of £20 million for him this summer.

Here’s how a few Arsenal fans reacted to the news
