'We made a big mistake': Some Arsenal fans rage as ex-player delivers MOTM showing in semi-final

It seems like every week there’s a new reason why Arsenal should have retained Emi Martinez over Bernd Leno. And last night was no exception.

The Argentine goalkeeper, who spent a decade with the Gunners before moving to Aston Villa, made an astonishing three saves in the semi-finals of the Copa Amerca against Colombia.

With the game at 1-1 after 120 minutes of football, Martinez emerged the hero for Argentina. The 28-year-old keeper pulled off a huge showing to fire Lionel Messi and company to the Copa America final.

Indeed, Martinez’s rise over the past 12 months has been nothing short of incredible.

The South American star was key to Arsenal’s FA Cup and Community Shield win last season. And with Villa, the former Gooner has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best keepers.

The German international was at fault for some goals last season, some of which caused Arsenal to lose points. Leno’s most famous incident was an own goal against Everton in a 1-0 loss for the Gunners.
