Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by an organised Crystal Palace side at the Emirates last night.
That brings an end to our four-game winning run, and Mikel Arteta will be scratching his head again.
Kieran Tierney’s absence proved to be a massive blow for us. The Scotsman has been our best player over the last few games and him missing out considerably weakened our left-side.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles came in for Tierney yesterday and the Englishman had a poor game.
He looked off the pace and made a mess of simple things, which is strange considering that he has fared incredibly well at left-back before.
The 23-year-old came under a ton of criticism from fans at half-time for his display in the first 45 minutes.
Many urged Arteta to take him off at the break but the Arsenal boss stuck by him. Maitland-Niles came out for the second half but barely lasted 20 minutes.
He was withdrawn and sadly, he deserved that. His performance combined with the result attracted a ton of criticism from a section of our fan base on social media.
However, many others jumped into his defence and urged the rest to support one of our own.
