'Who needs Haaland': Arteta saw Arsenal teenager do something amazing yesterday

If there is one criticism about Mikel Arteta over the last few weeks, it’s his reluctance to give Gabriel Martinelli more minutes.

The sensational Brazilian teenager has played just 31 minutes of football since the start of February. He has been fully fit, but for some reason, Arteta has preferred someone like Willian over him in games.

That, predictably, has irked a number of Arsenal supporters.

Martinelli is a fan favourite and his presence on the pitch gives something different. His directness, pace and his ability to get himself in fantastic positions makes him really special, but Arteta is making all of us wait.

The Spaniard recently admitted that it was his fault that Martinelli isn’t playing. He later claimed that the Brazilian needs to work hard and be patient, and it looks like Gabi’s doing just that.

Arsenal released a video of Martinelli scoring an amazing goal in training yesterday. Arteta was caught watching and the Arsenal boss’ reaction told the entire story. (Watch the full video here)

Arteta, like all of us, was hugely impressed with Martinelli’s strike. He has been watching the Brazilian give his all in training every day, and it feels like it’s only a matter of time before he gets regular chances.

Arsenal fans are hoping that Arteta uses him more often after the international break.

Here’s how a few of them reacted to his goal
