El Gol Digital revealed earlier this week that Arsenal are battling Manchester United to sign Sevilla’s French defender Jules Kounde this summer.
The 22-year-old has been one of the best defenders in La Liga since the start of last season. He played a massive part in helping them win the Europa League last year, and he is high on the wish list of multiple European clubs.

The report claims that along with Arsenal and United, French champions Paris Saint-Germain and La Liga giants Real Madrid are interested in Kounde, who is very likely to be sold this summer.
Sevilla slash Kounde’s asking price
Sevilla did everything they possibly could to keep him away from Pep Guardiola’s hands last summer. However, they need to raise some funds this time around and the report claims that they are willing to slash their asking price by £25 million.
Kounde is now available for about £51 million, which is still a lot of money for a 22-year-old. However, he has shown his quality already at the top-level and it is only a matter of time before he ends up at a top club.
Arsenal have a number of options at the back already. Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Gabriel Magalhaes will not go anywhere in the summer, while there is a good chance David Luiz gets a new deal as well.
William Saliba and Dinos Mavropanos will also return from loan and the pair have a bright future ahead of them.
It makes very little sense for Arsenal to make a move for Kounde, but the rumours have got the fans excited nonetheless.
