One Arsenal player who continues to divide opinion among fans is Matteo Guendouzi.

The Frenchman burst onto the scene in his debut season at the Emirates and became a fan-favourite. Many viewed him as the future of Arsenal’s midfield, but issues with Mikel Arteta behind the scenes cost him a place in the side.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Guendouzi played no part in Arsenal’s final few games of last season. He was sent out on loan in the summer to Hertha Berlin, and many feel that he will be sold once he returns to the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal fans feel that Guendouzi deserves another chance next season. He may have crossed a few lines last time around, but he is still a quality midfielder who has the potential to reach the very top.

If Arteta and Guendouzi can work out their differences this summer, he may well play a part next season. His recent activity on Twitter suggests that he still has a good relationship with the club.

The Frenchman turns 21 today and Arsenal’s official Twitter handle wished him a happy birthday. Guendouzi responded to the tweet, and that has got a few Arsenal fans dreaming about a return next season.

Now 22 and soon to be a father, it’s time for Guendouzi to be more matured. We all know Arteta is a disciplinarian, and some of the Frenchman’s antics in the past did not go down too well with the Arsenal boss.

If Guendouzi returns this summer a changed man, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t keep hold of him. Some Arsenal fans are hoping that’ll be the case in a few months time.

Here’s how a few Gooners reacted to his Tweet
