Although Thomas Partey is back in training for Arsenal, we may not be seeing him in action this weekend, according to a report by football.london.
The 27-year-old arrived at the Emirates Stadium in October to much fanfare, but his first few months in North London sadly haven’t quite gone to plan, due to injury issues.
Partey was forced off in the game with Aston Villa before suffering a recurrence of his injury against Spurs, and he hasn’t featured for the Gunners since.
However, he has stepped up his recovery and has now resumed training with the first team, the Ghana international pictured and filmed at London Colney on Friday.
Despite the huge boost of having Partey back in the training fold, Saturday’s game against West Brom may have come too early for him, if the football.london report is anything to go by.
The outlet claims Partey isn’t in the squad for the trip to the Midlands, going on to claim that the Arsenal medical team have pencilled in the FA Cup clash against Newcastle on January 9 as a potential return date.
Though the £45million ace would come in handy against a Baggies side that’s bound to park the bus, we’re not exactly in a bad position going into the game without him.
Morale is high after two league wins in a row and the attacking trio of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe have more than enough in the locker to pick the opposition defence apart.
And with Partey being given more time to recuperate and come back fully fit, then we’ll hopefully see the best of him and the best of Arsenal in the coming weeks and beyond.
