Live Reporter: Welcome to our live coverage of Barnet vs Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s men get their pre-season preparations underway with their traditional match at Underhill
Live Reporter: The big team news is that Tomas Rosicky makes his first appearance for the club since January 2008 having finally overcome his injury problems. Thomas Vermaelen also makes his debut following his move from Ajax earlier in the summer.
Live Reporter: We are just five minutes away from kick-off at Underhill and we can surely expect a bit of a show from Andrei Arshavin after his tremendous impact last season. The talented Jack Wilshere is also a player to look out for.
Live Reporter: The game gets underway. The returning Rosicky captains Arsenal who are sporting their new blue pinstripe away kit.
Live Reporter: Andrei Arshavin has the first attempt of the afternoon but the Russian playmakerdrags his effort wide of the near post.
Live Reporter: Now Sanchez Watt goes close for The Gunners. The young forward impressed in the FA Youth Cup victory last season.
Live Reporter: New signing Thomas Vermaelen looks to be in a bit of pain but the Belgium international soldiers on at centre back.
Live Reporter: Great save from Barnet keeper Will Viner as he parries a stinging left-foot effort from Sanchez Watt. Jack Wilshere fires over the bar from the subsequent corner.
Live Reporter: There is no Emmanuel Adebayor for Arsenal today of course as the striker is believed to be closing in on a move to Manchester City.
Live Reporter: Manuel Almunia has to be alert to smother a loose ball from a corner. Mark Hughes was ready for pounce for Barnet.
Live Reporter: Jack Wilshere embarks on a marauding run through midfield and squares for A rshavin, but the Russian slips when attempting to find his team-mate once more.
Live Reporter: Johan Djourou, playing at right-back, bursts down the centre of the pitch, past a number of challenges, and is ruled offside when collecting a one-two that would have put him clear on goal. That was a tight decision though.
Live Reporter: Vermaelen has not had the easiest of introductions to English football so far and it certainly remains to be seen whether he is the dominant defender that Arsenal need.
Live Reporter: Veteran striker Paul Furlong attempts an unorthodox strike at goal but Almunia is untroubled in the Arsenal goal.
Live Reporter: Arsenal embark on a quick break but Sanchez Watt allows the move to break down and former Republic of Ireland international Gary Breen takes the ball away. Remember when he was linked with Inter after the 2002 World Cup? Breen that is, not Watt.
Live Reporter: Tomas Rosicky, so desperate to impress after his long absence, collects the ball from Arshavin and bends a shot wide of the far post.
Live Reporter: Paul Furlong threatens again for Barnet as he drives a shot narrowly over the bar. Almunia looked confident it was off target but that was only inches away.
Live Reporter: GOAL ARSHAVIN
Live Reporter: GOAL FOR ARSENAL! Arshavin pokes the ball home from close range as he gets on the end of a neat cross from Sanchez Watt. That was all too easy for Arsenal.
Live Reporter: GOAL FOR BARNET! Ismail Yakubu draws Barnet level on the stroke of half-time as he meets an inswinging free-kick from Hart with a flicked header.
Live Reporter: HALF TIME and it’s one a piece
Live Reporter: That is half-time and Arshavin’s tap-in has been cancelled out by Yakubu’s late header. We can expect a number of changes from Arsene Wenger during the break.
Live Reporter:Orlando Pirates 2-0 Manchester City
Live Reporter: Only Thomas Vermaelen survives from the Arsenal side that started the first half as Wenger makes ten changes. The Belgian is captaining the side and we are back underway.
Live Reporter: GOAL FOR ARSENAL! Nacer Barazite scores at Barnet for the third summer in succession. The Dutch forward, who was on loan at Derby last season, sees one effort blocked inside the box before curling a delightful attempt inside the far post.
Live Reporter: Youth team captain Jay Emmanuel-Thomas takes aim from 20 yards but his free-kick soars over the bar.
Live Reporter: MORE UPDATES TO FOLLOW……
Live Reporter: Now Barnet make five changes as Ian Hendon looksto give his trialists a run-out.
Live Reporter: and Vermaelen
Live Reporter: Craig Eastmond whips a dangerous cross into the box but there are no Arsenal players placed to convert and the danger passes for Barnet.
Live Reporter: Barazite attempts to play a defence-splitting pass but the Barnet backline stands firm. It is all Arsenal at the moment.
Live Reporter: Nacer Barazite is a dead ringer for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he does have a nice touch, but this could be a decisive season for the Dutchman. Will he go out on loan again?
Live Reporter: 73 mins gone still all Arsenal
Live Reporter: There is very little urgency from either side at present, understandable given this is a pre-season friendly. Arsenal are effectively playing their youth team, plus Vermaelen of course.
Live Reporter: A rare moment of danger from Barnet as Danny Hart takes aim from long range but keeper Vito Mannone saves well.
Live Reporter: GOAL FOR BARNET! Elliot Charles, only just on as a substitute, takes advantage of some sloppy defending to finish into the far corner.
Live Reporter: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas misses a gloriou s chance to win the game for Arsenal as he finds himself one-on-one and only succeeds in shooting wide.
Live Reporter: The superbly-named Tom Cruise sends in a dangerous cross from the left and Barnet clear behind for a corner.
Live Reporter: 87th minute
Live Reporter: FULL TIME It finishes 2-2 at Underhill thanks to Elliot Charles’ late goal. Andrei Arshavin had put Arsenal ahead before Ismail Yakubu scored on the stroke of half-time, while Nacer Barazite claimed Arsenal’s second in the early stages of the second half.
