Arsenal are not just interested in signing Declan Rice this summer – Chelsea’s Mason Mount is also reportedly a target for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Midfield will be the Gunners’ priority this summer. Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Jorginho will all be on the wrong side of 30 soon, and it would be wise to bring in alternatives in that position.

Rice would be fantastic, but it has now been reported that Mount is also a target.

Arsenal want to sign Mason Mount

Goal report today that Arsenal are monitoring Mason Mount’s situation at Chelsea.

The Englishman, who came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and he has refused to sign an extension so far.

Chelsea, as a result, look set to cash in on him when the transfer window opens, and among other clubs interested in his services are Arsenal, who will be in the Champions League next season.

The report claims Arsenal have held talks over Mount’s availability this summer. Newcastle United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all interested in him as well.

Declan Rice’s best mate

It is no secret at this point that Rice is Arsenal’s priority transfer target this summer.

The Englishman is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and he would be an incredible signing for us if Edu and Arteta can pull it off.

One thing that could convince Rice to join Arsenal is assuring him that we’ll sign his best mate Mount too. The two played together at Chelsea as kids and have been best friends since childhood.

If things go to plan for Arsenal, we could end up signing both Mount and Rice, which would be a huge statement of intent irrespective of what happens this season.
