Kai Havertz is heading into the World Cup in fantastic form.
The Arsenal striker is fully fit and firing, having scored in each of his last four starts for club and country.
One of his Germany teammates is now backing him to be the tournament’s top goalscorer.
RB Leipzig left-back David Raum, speaking on RBLZ Gaming’s TikTok, made his quick-fire World Cup predictions and named Havertz as his Golden Boot winner.
It sounds a bold call initially, but one that is difficult to argue with given what the Arsenal forward has produced in recent weeks.
Fill in the blank – Kai Havertz’s header was the best I’ve seen for Arsenal since ___
He put Arsenal in front in the Champions League final against PSG with a stunning early strike before the heartbreak of the penalty shootout.
He then delivered a Man of the Match performance in Germany’s 2-1 warm-up win over the USA, scoring an early opener and assisting Leroy Sane’s winner.
USA manager Mauricio Pochettino described him as a “physically dominant presence in the box” — high praise from the former Tottenham coach.
Those both followed his emphatic header in the 1-0 win over Burnley — the last goal Arsenal scored before being crowned Premier League champions — a leap so clean and powerful it drew comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Arsenal hoping Kai Havertz returns from the World Cup fit and healthy
Havertz missed Germany’s entire World Cup qualifying campaign through injury, but has scored in each of his last two international appearances since returning.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann has already made clear that Havertz has everything required to be the top goalscorer, and the timing of his return to form could not be better for his country.
🏆 Which Arsenal star will go the furthest at this summer’s World Cup?
Zubimendi and Spain? Saka and England? Saliba and France?
Keeping him fit and firing has been a great challenge for Mikel Arteta over the past 18 months.
A severe hamstring injury ruled him out for the last three months of the 2024/25 season, before a knee injury in the very first league game of the following campaign kept him out for almost five months.
He struggled to maintain his fitness on his return and was in and out of the team after suffering a couple of further injury setbacks.
When available, he simply makes Arsenal a better team — his movement, link play, and aerial threat offer something Viktor Gyokeres can’t quite replicate.
A deep run in the World Cup would keep him sharp and confident heading into the new season, providing he doesn’t pick up another injury.
After over a year of injury frustration, Havertz looks ready to deliver on the biggest stage. Raum clearly thinks so. So does Nagelsmann. And Arsenal fans, perhaps more than anyone, will be watching very closely.
