Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin has claimed that reported Arsenal target Elye Wahi ‘loves’ the Gunners amid transfer links this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to be very active in this window. Central midfield is our priority, but we could do with a prolific forward as well.
Wahi, who has had a sensational season in Ligue 1 for Montpellier, has been linked with a move to Arsenal (Foot Mercato), and his president has now made an exciting claim.

Club president says Gunners target Elye Wahi ‘loves Arsenal’
One of the most impressive things about Arsenal’s attack this season is how we shared the goals between our front players.
Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka found the net 15 times each, while Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah managed 11 and nine respectively.

If there’s one way we can improve our attack, it’s by signing a player who will guarantee 20 or so goals a season. Young Wahi, who scored 19 for Montpellier, could be the one.
Addressing the rumours, Montpellier’s president Nicollin claimed today, as quoted by Esprit Paillade: “His agent is talking to four or five big clubs, and I know who they are, but I won’t tell you.
“We know how much he loves Arsenal.”
The Insider’s View:
Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are good options for Arsenal, as is Leandro Trossard, who has done a magnificent job since joining us.
However, with the Champions League returning to the Emirates next season, there is room for another attacker, and Wahi is a decent option as a prospect.
The Frenchman, still just 20 years old, has had an amazing season in the Ligue 1. He managed 19 goals and provided six assists in 33 games, which is a very impressive record for someone of his age.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but if Wahi loves Arsenal, this should be a fairly easy deal to complete this summer.
