Arsenal fans have had the pleasure of witnessing some gifted footballers over the years.

Arsene Wenger’s invincible side included the legendary figures of Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry who showed such poise and elegance on the pitch.

His team then evolved into quick, incisive passing and the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky really came to the fore in midfield.

Jack Wilshere was one of those players who got fans off their seats but he has just named who he believes was ‘technically’ the best he played with. Surprisingly, the answer is not Mesut Ozil.

Jack Wilshere names Santi Cazorla as ‘technically’ the best player he played with

Speaking on the latest episode of ‘The Obi One’ podcast alongside former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, Wilshere has revealed that Santi Cazorla was the best player he played with in terms of technical ability.

Wilshere stated: “He used to take corners, left and right, technically he’s the best player I’ve ever seen, left foot and right foot.

“You know players who can ping the ball with their weak foot, you know how hard that is? John Terry could do it, and Santi Cazorla could do it.”

Cazorla signed a new contract at Real Oviedo and is set to play in La Liga at the age of 41 after earning promotion with his boyhood side last season.

Santi Cazorla would have been an Arsenal legend had it not been for injuries

Ask Arsenal fans about Cazorla and they will tell you what a wonderful player the Spanish magician was to watch.

When you saw his diminutive frame, there may have been fears over his ability to compete in the Premier League but his tenacity in the tackle was equally as impressive as his creativity.

Mikel Arteta has opened the door for Cazorla to return to the club one day in a coaching capacity and you cannot help but imagine the wonders he would do for young players such as Ethan Nwaneri.

For now, the Spaniard is concentrating on the twilight of his playing career. Who knows what the future may hold for Santi Cazorla.
