After gaining a BA(Hons) in Music from Nottingham University, Oliver decided career in Music was not for him. Now he is embarking on a career in sports journalism after graduating with an MA in print journalism from Nottingham Trent University. He is a sports fanatic, with his particular interest football and cricket. He has been an Arsenal season ticket holder since 2006 and the first match he attended was a 4-3 victory at Highbury against Southampton in the 1992-93 season. Oliver is more likely to be seen in the press box at the Emirates these days, rather than using his season ticket, but his passion for the Gunners is alive and well.
Following his degree, Oliver has embarked on a number of journalism work experience opportunities, notably with the The Times, The Guardian and the Observer. He also has had two spell on placement with the sports agency Hayters. His content can mostly be seen on football website Goal.com UK, covering all the London based football clubs. It is not just premier League football that whets Oliver’s appetite, he works for the Press Association, on a casual basis, finding the breaking stories in the worlds of the Championship, league One, League Two and non-league football.
Oliver currently lives in Central London. This is where he is based for most of his work but occasionally can be found at the Press Association offices in Howden, East Yorkshire.
