Liverpool’s Andy Robertson spoke on The Football Show on PLZ Soccer about his Scotland teammate and Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.

The two Scots are gearing up for what is set to be a really exciting few weeks at the Euros this summer. Scotland aren’t favourites in anyone’s books, but they have quality players, and they are more than capable of causing some damage.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Skipper Robertson will be key for Scotland, as will Tierney. The Liverpool man has heaped praise on his Arsenal counterpart this week, and it is safe to say, he – like all of us – is a big fan of the Gunners number three.

He said: “KT is a fantastic, fantastic footballer. He’s a pleasure to play alongside when we play five at the back. Me and him have got the balance right. We are both working well together defensively and going forward.

“We’ve proved to people we can play in the same team. I’ve got a lot of time for him as a person, but as a footballer, he’s an incredible player. He’s still young, people forget that.

“He’s still got a lot of potential ahead of him to get even better. He already is a fantastic player, but he’ll only get better and better with his attitude and the way he goes about the game. He’ll be a massive player for us (in the Euros).”

Can Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson lead Scotland to glory?

Scotland are in a really difficult group alongside England, Croatia and the Czech Republic. It won’t be easy for the Scots, but if Tierney and Robertson really step up, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see them go through.

As far as Arsenal fans are concerned, we would love to see Tierney succeed with Scotland, but the only thing we really care about is his fitness. As long as the 23-year-old can return to pre-season in good shape, we don’t really care.

Tierney really is an ‘incredible player’. If Arsenal can keep him fit throughout next season, our chances of success will increase considerably, but for that to happen, Mikel Arteta and our medical staff will have to manage him a lot better than they have done over the last 12 months.
