Hellas Verona striker Cyril Ngonge has revealed that his dream is to sign and play for Arsenal one day.

The Gunners are a global brand. We have young players across the globe supporting and dreaming of representing Arsenal one day, but very few actually make it.

Ngonge, still only 23, could fulfil his wish one day.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

Relegation hero Cyril Ngonge says his dream is to play for Arsenal

The Serie A was an exciting league to watch this season.

Usual favourites Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan all failed to win the title – it was Napoli who went all the way instead for the first time in over three decades.

The relegation battle was an interesting one as well, with Jakub Kiwior’s former club Spezia and Hellas Verona battling for survival in a play-off last week.

In what was a must-win game, someone had to step up to win it and Ngonge did just that. The 23-year-old became a ‘hero‘ for Verona as he scored twice to help his side achieve safety.

Now, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Ngonge said: “My dream has always been to play for Arsenal.

“But now I’m in Italy, I love it so I might even want to stay. Just kidding, of course.”

TBR View:

Ngonge isn’t quite at the level required to play for Arsenal yet, but there’s still a lot of time to fulfil his childhood dream.

The Belgian is still just 23 years old. He showed against Spezia that he has what it takes to step up in the big games, and if he continues to deliver, a big move may well come calling in a few years’ time.

As for Arsenal, our focus right now is on the likes of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. We’ve had bids rejected for both of them, but there is confidence that a deal can be struck in the coming days.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can bring in those two players before we head out for out pre-season tour.
