After helping Gabon secure a place in next year’s African Cup Of Nations, Arsenal skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back home in London.
The former Dortmund man streamed on Twitch last night and interacted with some of his fans. Most questions, predictably, were about him, but there was one supporter who wanted Auba to deliver a message to another Arsenal player.
An Arsenal fan asked Aubameyang: “Can you tell Odegaard to sign?” The Gunners skipper acknowledged that and replied: “Definitely, yeah. I will ask him.”
That is every Arsenal fan’s wish at the moment.
Martin Odegaard has been brilliant for Arsenal ever since he joined us. He has gone from strength to strength, and his performances in the few games before the break were truly magnificent.
The Norwegian’s future is up in the air at the moment. He has only joined us on loan from Real Madrid and nobody knows what the Galacticos will decide about Odegaard in the upcoming summer transfer window.
There have been contrasting reports over the last few weeks. Some say that Real Madrid will block all attempts from Arsenal to sign Odegaard in the summer, while others say that the Norwegian will not even consider returning to the Bernabeu if Zinedine Zidane is still at the helm.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Finding a way to sign Odegaard on a permanent deal would arguably make it Edu’s best move as our technical director.
However, it will not be easy, especially if Zidane gets the sack and a manager who likes Odegaard takes over at Real Madrid.
