Jack Wilshere has praised Arsenal star Mesut Ozil after he delivered a dazzling display in the Gunners’ 3-1 Premier League win at Sunderland.
Record signing Ozil proved his class and set up Olivier Giroud for the first goal at the Stadium of Light.
And midfielder Wilshere reckons there is more to come from the former Real Madrid playmaker.
He said: “He’s a top quality player. We play football and he’s going to fit in. He’s shown that after one game.
“There’s a lot more to come from him and if he can stay fit and get in that position a lot more, if we can get him on the ball behind their midfield, he’s going to cause the opposition a big problem and he showed that on Saturday.”
Wilshere says he is confident Arsene Wenger’s side can keep up their winning ways.
He added: “I think we’ve carried that on from last season. There was a mentality at the end of last season where we had to win games. We had to get that fourth spot.
“We’ve carried that on into this season so far, especially with the away results. We seem to play really well away from home and hopefully we can take that form into the home games now as well.
“We all get on really well here. We’ve got a great set of lads and we’ve been together for four or five years now, most of us. We’re starting to build a real friendship and I think that’s shown on the pitch.”
