'It is obvious': Dani Ceballos comments on Arsenal-linked Martin Odegaard's future

Arsenal star Dani Ceballos spoke to Spanish outlet EFE about Martin Odegaard amid speculation he will leave Real Madrid on loan this month.

The Spaniard is into his second season on loan at the Emirates and he knows better than anyone else how difficult it is to get into Real Madrid’s first-team.

Odegaard is facing a similar problem at the moment and he, like Ceballos, could leave the Spanish capital on loan until the end of this season.

Ceballos admitted that he doesn’t know what will happen to Odegaard this month, but he claimed that young players need to grab opportunities like a loan if they want to succeed at the Bernabeu.

He said: “Young players need to play regularly. At Real Madrid, I needed to know that I will have equal opportunities. I was obsessed with playing again. I wasn’t getting minutes, but I realised it was best to work and reverse the situation and be important.”

“If I do this, I’ll play again. It couldn’t have been any clearer. I can tell you what happened to me at Madrid. I don’t know exactly what will happen with Martin Odegaard, but it is obvious that any player who wants to succeed at Madrid is going to grab the opportunity he has.”

Could Ceballos help Arsenal sign Odegaard?

Ceballos’ interview happened before Sky Sports revealed that Arsenal had made an approach to sign Odegaard on loan this month.

The Gunners have an open dialogue with Real Madrid thanks to Ceballos. The Spaniard has definitely improved since joining us and that could help convince the Galacticos to send another one of their players to the Emirates.

Odegaard would be a sensational signing – even if it’s only for six months. He will offer us something different from midfield and that could potentially change our fortunes in the Premier League and in Europe.
