Report: What furious Granit Xhaka shouted at Arsenal defenders at full-time last night

Granit Xhaka echoed every Arsenal fan’s frustration with a furious seven-word explicit rant at his defenders after the final whistle last night.

The Gunners messed up at the back by overplaying the ball at a moment when we should’ve just cleared it. Gabriel and Cedric were at fault then and Slavia Prague scored from the subsequent corner to level the game.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

As bad as Arsenal were last night, we should’ve won the game, especially after Nicolas Pepe fired us in front in the 86th minute. All we had to do was manage the last few minutes, but we bottled it in typical Arsenal style.

The result was a really frustrating one for everyone, especially for the ones on the pitch who had worked so hard to get the lead through Pepe just a few minutes before the 90 last night. Xhaka was one of them.

The Swiss international was one of the few players who had a decent game from the start last night. He played really well, but he completely lost his cool once Cedric and Gabriel managed to gift Slavia a good opportunity.

As reported by Charles Watts of Goal and Football London, an irate Xhaka screamed at his defenders at full time: “Just clear the f*****g ball away man.”

That was every Arsenal fan’s reaction as well after Slavia levelled the game just a minute before the final whistle.

The Insider’s View:

Xhaka had every right to be furious with his teammates. A 1-0 win would have been a very good result for us, but to concede an away goal the way we did is really frustrating.

Arsenal now have to go to the Czech capital and score. We simply cannot afford to miss as many chances as we did last night. If we do, we may as well kiss our hopes of making it into the semi-final goodbye.

Arteta’s future could well depend on the game next week. There is a small section of our fan base who have already lost their patience – that will only get worse if we get ourselves knocked out by a team ranked 35th in UEFA’s club coefficients. (UEFA.com)
