The young Englishman has barely played this season. He spent months out with an injury, but it looks like he’s back and ready to go, and his return is a massive boost for us in the second half of the season.
Smith Rowe says Arteta could use 2022 incident to fire up Arsenal players for NLD
The two North London Derbies every season are the first fixtures Arsenal and Tottenham fans check out when the list is announced before the start of every season.
We won at home and lost away last season – the defeat was a really painful one as it cost us a place in the Champions League.
This season, Arsenal won the home game in fantastic style, and we’d love nothing more than to see the lads do the double this weekend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Smith Rowe thinks Arteta could use last season’s defeat to fire the players up ahead of the game on Sunday.
He said, as quoted by The Sun: “This game couldn’t have come at a better time for us. We’re feeling really good at the moment and all the boys are itching to get out there.
“Maybe the manager will talk about last season’s game in the build-up to Sunday but most of us already know how painful that defeat was and we’ll use that energy to help us on Sunday.”
The Insider’s View:
Arsenal have been the best team in the country this season – the points table shows that.
However, form goes out of the window in the derby, especially away from home, and the game on Sunday will be a very difficult one.
We’ll have to be at our absolute best from the very start – if we are, we should be able to get the job done just like we did in the reverse fixture a few months ago.
Hopefully, Arteta’s team talk will fire the players up, and they’ll go out there and bring the three points back to the Emirates.
