Arsenal came from behind to beat Southampton in the Premier League last night. Mikel Arteta’s men fully deserved the win and once again, it was Bukayo Saka who stole the show.
The teenager scored Arsenal’s second goal and assisted Alexandre Lacazette in the 72nd minute to put the game beyond the hosts.
The composure he showed for his goal to round the onrushing Saints goalkeeper was simply incredible, and the way he set Lacazette up with his weaker foot shows just how much he has improved in recent weeks.
That’s now four goals and two assists for Saka in his last six Premier League games. That is an incredible record and his overall goal-return this season is more than all other teenagers in the league combined – a truly remarkable stat. (Squawka)
Saka took to Instagram after the game to celebrate his goal, assist and the three points. Arsenal fans flooded his post with love, but they weren’t the only ones.
Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish, Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and Arsenal contract-rebel Folarin Balogun all heaped praise on the young Englishman.
Grealish labelled Saka a ‘starboyyyy’, while Sancho urged him to ‘keep going’. Balogun named him ‘the best ever’ and Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips called him a ‘golden boy’.
Saka would’ve definitely loved all the love he has been receiving on social media. He is arguably our best player at the moment, and the fact that he is still only 19 makes it really scary to all our rivals.
