Jack Wilshere has revealed how enjoying slap-up dinners on swanky nights out have helped Arsenal’s stars bond.
And Gunners midfielder Wilshere says the social gatherings have managed to promote team spirit within Arsene Wenger’s squad.
Arsenal sit top of the table and are two points clear of Liverpool in second place.
Their super form got a dent when they lost last week 1-0 at Manchester United in the Premier League but prior to that they saw off Liverpool in the league and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
England ace Wilshere is adamant that being top of the pile has a direct link to the unity within the north London outfit’s camp.
He said: “Our team spirit is massive. We’ve been out a few times. We didn’t do it for a couple of years but over the last six months we go out for team dinners and we meet up outside of football, which is good for the team.
“Sometimes you just want to get away from football, you want to sit down and talk about life, your family and things like that. We’ve been doing that this season and it’s really showing on the pitch.
“We’ve done really well this season and towards the end of last season and I think the team spirit plays a massive part in that.”
