Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has revealed that neither he nor Aaron Ramsdale can get a minute’s sleep whenever the Gunners lose a game.
A common criticism from some sections of our fan base is that players like Xhaka just don’t care about the club. That’s as far away from the truth as far as the Swiss international is concerned, and he has had his say on those remarks.
Xhaka has claimed that he has held discussions with the club about inviting fans to watch the players train once a week to show how hard they work. He also revealed that he and Ramsdale have sleepless nights whenever Arsenal lose a game – home or away.

Xhaka and Ramsdale can’t sleep every time Arsenal lose a game
Addressing some of the criticism that comes Arsenal players’ way, Xhaka said, as per the Evening Standard: “The people who do not see us in the training, for example, do not see how hard we are working in training. They see us only in the 90 minutes. Everyone has a good and bad day.
“That is why I spoke with the club as well about: ‘Why can’t we bring the fans maybe once a week so they can see us how we train?’ It is not like we are coming here to waste our time and after we don’t care about the 90 minutes. We care more than people think.
“Me and Aaron [Ramsdale] for example, we can’t sleep after the game when we lose. It does not matter if we are home or away. But this no one can see.
“This makes me very disappointed and very sad that after that the people start to speak: ‘You didn’t give everything for the club, you do that, you did…’ This is b******* you know.”

The Insider’s View:
It really is sad that some players like Xhaka are treated unfairly at times by a small section of our fan base. The Swiss midfielder definitely has his flaws, but some of the abuse he has received over the years is just unacceptable.
One of the best things that happened last season was that Xhaka built a connection with the fans. Even those who didn’t like him began to adore him, and that helped him have a fantastic second half of the campaign.
Unless Arsenal sign a top-quality midfielder in the coming days, Xhaka will once again be a mainstay in the middle of our park. He has done well this year in a more advanced role, and Arteta deserves immense credit for that.
Hopefully, that can continue for the remainder of his time with us.
