It’s Newcastle vs Arsenal in the Premier League tomorrow, and Paul Merson and BBC pundit Chris Sutton have revealed their predictions.
The title is no longer in Arsenal’s hands after we failed to win any of our games against Liverpool, West Ham United, Southampton and Manchester City. We returned to winning ways against Chelsea midweek, and that keeps us in touching distance.
Arsenal have to win every game from now until the end of the season to have any chance of winning the title. Up next is one of the most difficult games of the season – against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Why Pele Is Overrated.
Paul Merson and BBC pundit Chris Sutton predict Newcastle United vs Arsenal
Newcastle United have been absolutely incredible in the Premier League since the start of this season.
After successfully avoiding the drop last campaign, everyone knew they would improve under Eddie Howe this term. However, nobody would’ve expected them to be anywhere near the top four, let alone be in it.

The Magpies deserve a lot of credit for where they are right now, and the game at St James’ Park tomorrow will be a very difficult one.
Sutton and Merson have predicted very different results.
Sutton wrote on BBC Sport: “I was at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday and Arsenal were very good – but there is an argument that Chelsea made them look very good.
“I thought Gunners defender Jakub Kiwior had a really good game against the Blues, but stopping an in-form Newcastle side is a much bigger ask. The way the Magpies take the game to teams is great to watch and there is no way whatsoever this one will end goalless again, like it did when they met in January.”
Sutton’s prediction: Newcastle United 2-1 Arsenal

Merson wrote on Sportskeeda: “This could be the game that finishes Arsenal off in the Premier League title race, as Newcastle United are in incredible form. Eddie Howe and co have been unbelievable at home this season and are well-positioned to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.
“If Arsenal win this, I think the title race could be back on, as Manchester City have a bunch of interesting games coming up.
“Both Arsenal and Newcastle have played fantastic football this season and this will be a great contest, but unfortunately, I can’t see Arsenal winning this one. The pressure will be on them and the Magpies are a tough nut to crack at St. James’ Park.”
Merson’s prediction: Newcastle United 1-1 Arsenal
