Some Arsenal fans react to Dominic Calvert-Lewin links

The Telegraph stunned Arsenal fans this morning by claiming that Edu and Mikel Arteta are keeping tabs on Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Englishman had the season of his life for the Toffees last term. He scored 21 goals in all competitions and made a name for himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin improved his game massively under Carlo Ancelotti. He was nowhere near the player he is today before the legendary Italian took charge of Everton, but now that he’s gone, the Englishman could potentially look for a way out as well.

Arsenal are praying for that to happen, but it’s extremely unlikely. Calvert-Lewin has four years left on his contract and Everton will surely demand the world for him. That makes it almost impossible for us to sign him – unless Stan Kroenke opens his wallet.

Can Arsenal afford Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

90min recently claimed that Arsenal’s owners have agreed to splash a mammoth £250 million on transfers this summer. That really is hard to believe, but if that’s true, our interest in Calvert-Lewin makes sense.

The Englishman, in a way, is exactly what we need. Arsenal don’t have a striker at the moment who is a real threat in the air. Calvert-Lewin could come in and instantly solve that problem this summer.

A brilliant crosser of the ball like Kieran Tierney could potentially end the season with more than 10 assists if Calvert-Lewin comes in, and many Arsenal fans are licking their lips at the prospect of seeing some headed goals at the Emirates next term.
