Southampton vs Arsenal: A couple of magic moment from Alexis claims the three points

Finally, Arsenal have made some progress in the race for a top four finish after leapfrogging Manchester United with a 2-0 away win at Southampton. Now three points off fourth spot Arsenal will hope to make it three wins in three, but before we look into their trip to Stoke it’s time to pick a man of the match from the Southampton game.
Despite Arsenal having a quiet first half, things started to kick on a bit in the second half as players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez began to shine. Alexis probably being the standout for Arsenal in the game.
Playing just behind the striker, he was again was involved in both goals as he helped Arsenal to the three points. Arsenal’s first goal came on the hour mark. Two quick passes from Xhaka and Ozil released the small Chilean inside the Southampton penalty area as he turned well to receive the ball before sending a couple defenders for ice creams and then guiding the ball home with his left foot for his 20th goal of the season.
It was then just over 20 minutes later when Arsenal doubled their lead and Sanchez had a part to play in this goal too. Picking up the ball on the edge of the box he hit an over the top pass across the box to Aaron Ramsey, who surprisingly chose to head the ball rather than bring it down, but not to worry as the ball found its way to this season’s super sub Olivier Giroud who finished off the move.
Despite Ramsey’s initiative, the source of the goal was definitely Sanchez who celebrated his own goal by patting the Arsenal cannon on his chest. Whether that actually means anything or not it was still a nice sight to see after a few games seeing the subject of so many transfer rumours take charge of a game after a while.
