David Luiz spoke to Daily Mail about former boss Unai Emery’s critical comments about Arsenal players.
The Spaniard was relieved of his duties back in November and has been without a job since. Emery has been very vocal with his comments about Arsenal since his sacking and that hasn’t gone down well with Arsenal fans.
However, David Luiz seems to have taken the higher road and was full of praise for the former PSG boss.
He said: “Unai is a great coach, a great person. The things didn’t work very well, especially the results and it’s normal to try to find some answers with his vision. I don’t judge nobody. I still have a lot of admiration for him.
“He was great, great guy, great coach. Football we need the results, if the results aren’t coming everybody is going to try to find why and everybody has his vision. He has his vision and we have to accept that in a nice way and in a humble way.”
Luiz’s relationship with the Spaniard dates back to the duo’s time at PSG. Arsenal’s decision to sign the Brazilian is likely to have been down to Emery and he is keen to maintain that connection further on.
Arsenal have moved on, Emery should too
Arsenal have well and truly moved on from Emery’s time at the club. The players and the team, in general, have looked a lot better under Mikel Arteta.
The results haven’t quite reflected the performances but there is little doubt that it will change in the coming weeks and months.
Emery should move on with his own career at this point considering that he is only ruining his own credibility by speaking out about his dismal time at the Emirates over and over again.
