Konstantinos ‘Dinos’ Mavropanos has been in the news a lot lately thanks to his excellent performances on loan at Stuttgart.

The soon-to-be Greek international has had a sensational season in the Bundesliga. He was initially sidelined with an injury that forced him to undergo surgery. However, since his return, he has been Stuttgart’s main man.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The Swabians’ sporting director Sven Mistlintat knows Mavropanos very well. After all, he was the guy who brought the big defender to Arsenal back in 2018, and he was the one who signed him on loan at the start of the season.

Mislintat, in an interview with The Athletic earlier this month, revealed that he will try to sign Mavropanos on another loan deal in the summer, but claimed that it will depend on what Arsenal and Mikel Arteta decide to do.

It now seems like the chiefs at Arsenal have made up their mind. Mislintat has made a complete U-turn on his statement from a little over a week ago.

He told Echo24: “I don’t see it (signing Mavropanos on another loan deal) as very likely at the moment.”

Exciting news for Arsenal fans?

Arsenal supporters have been really impressed by Mavropanos’ performances at Stuttgart this season.

The Gunners could lose David Luiz this summer while the futures of William Saliba and Calum Chambers are still up in the air. Arsenal will definitely need a new centre-half, and Mavropanos can save us millions.

The only reason for Mislintat to believe that another loan deal is unlikely is if Arsenal have communicated to him that we are planning to keep hold of the giant Greek international.

Mavropanos definitely deserves a chance at Arsenal. He has all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and his style of play definitely suits the way Arteta likes to play.
