Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has had his say on Arsenal and Mikel Arteta’s reported interest in Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentine. Edu is working really hard to bring in a creative player this month, and many view Buendia as the man to solve our problems.

The Independent recently claimed that Norwich want at least £40 million for their star attacker. Football London revealed that Buendia is open to a move to a top club in the Premier League. That puts the ball in Arsenal and Edu’s court.

Romano has revealed that Arsenal have been in contact with Buendia’s representatives. He claims that the Argentine’s agents have been told that he is on Arteta’s list, but he believes that a move will only happen in the last week of this month.

He said: “There is no bid yet at the moment from Arsenal to sign Buendia. They are in contact with his agent, they spoke many times with people around Buendia to say, ‘Ok, we are interested, he’s an option, he’s part of the list.”

“He’s a possibility. They like him. They have a lot of options, it’s normal for top clubs to have a lot of options. I think we will need to wait until the last week. In the last week, we will understand who will be the option.”

Is Buendia the right man for Arsenal?

There is no doubt over Buendia’s quality. He was one of Norwich’s shining lights in the Premier League last season, and his numbers show exactly why.

The Argentine created more chances than any other player in the English top-flight barring Kevin de Bruyne, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jack Grealish. (Squawka)

If he can produce the same kind of output to players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette game after game, Arsenal will have one of the most dangerous attacks in the Premier League.
