Former Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has had his say on Slavia Prague star Abdallah Sima amid rumours about a potential move to the Emirates this summer.

CalcioMercato revealed a couple of weeks before the January transfer window that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the teenager who has been dubbed as the ‘new Thierry Henry’.

It’s not often that players are compared to ‘The King’, but Sima’s numbers for Slavia this season have been phenomenal.

The teenager has 19 goals and six assists to his name in 29 starts this season. That is an incredible return for someone who is still only 19, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make the jump to a bigger club this summer.

Cech, who keeps an eye on the Czech top-flight, has noticed Sima. He has claimed that there aren’t many players like him Europe at the moment and has backed him to succeed at the top-level in the future.

He told iSport: “He (Sima) is being talked about. When a player appears who, in such years, succeeds in adult football, starts scoring goals and gives them in Europe, clubs notice.

“There are not many such players in Europe. Like him, Adam Hlozek (Sparta Prague forward), for example, will be monitored. (Tomas) Soucek and (Vladimir) Coufal are opening the door (to the Premier League) for them.”

The Insider’s View:

Sima played 69 minutes against Arsenal in the Europa League last week. He didn’t really have a big impact, but if he can catch Mikel Arteta’s eye in the return leg on Thursday, the Gunners could well make a move this summer.

A versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the front three, Sima has immense potential. He is very direct and is an excellent dribbler. He is extremely difficult to mark and his numbers show that he isn’t shy in front goal either.

With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah expected to leave this summer, a versatile attacker like Sima could be an interesting option. However, with Slavia president Jaroslav Tvrdik demanding £50 million for him, it will not be an easy deal to complete.
