Brighton and Hove Albion star Yves Bissouma wants to join Arsenal this summer – that’s what former Gunners star Kevin Campbell has been hearing from his sources ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 51-year-old is very active as a pundit these days. He is highly regarded among Arsenal fans, and it isn’t a surprise to know that he is still in contact with plenty of people from within the game.

Campbell: Bissouma wants to come to Arsenal

He said on The Highbury Squad Podcast: “I am hearing that he wants to come to Arsenal. That’s what I am hearing. So, Arsenal have got to make some moves and get him.

“I don’t know if you saw it at the end of the game, him and Pepe were there talking.

“I think Pepe was just talking him through the Emirates. You go through that door at the top, you go down the side there and there’s a bar. Your family will be up in that box, my box is beside it. You know, something like that.”

The Insider’s View:

It is exciting to know that a former player is hearing from someone within that Bissouma really wants to join Arsenal this summer. However, we can’t help but think that the whole story is based on the interaction between the Brighton man and Pepe after the game on Sunday.

The two Africans know each other very well thanks to their time together at Lille. Pepe was probably pointing at a couple of his pals sitting in his box at the Emirates for all we know. That simply cannot be interpreted as a hint ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, if Campbell really has heard from a source within the club that Bissouma is ready to leave Brighton for Arsenal, it’s time to celebrate as the Mali international is exactly what we need in the middle of our park.
