Arsenal Invincible Ray Parlour has sent a message to Stan Kroenke while speaking on TalkSport today.

Gunners supporters have a shaky relationship with their owners. KSE have come under a ton of criticism in the past for their reluctance to bolster our funds to help us sign some of the best players in the world.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The lack of trophies in the second half of Arsene Wenger’s tenure was mainly due to our financial issues. The legendary Frenchman managed to work wonders with our tiny budget, but the same cannot be expected of Mikel Arteta.

The Arsenal boss showed last season that he is the right man for the job. We’ve had our ups and downs this season, but Arteta has done remarkably well in what has been the most difficult period in the club’s history.

Parlour: Please back Arteta in the transfer window

Parlour has urged Kroenke and co to back the Spaniard in the transfer window. The former Arsenal midfielder highlighted how Jurgen Klopp transformed Liverpool to one of the best teams in the world after their owners backed him in the market.

He said: “He’s learned a little bit from Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola as well, but I’d give him a chance. It might take a couple of transfer windows, look at Jurgen Klopp, he got an opportunity. He came into Liverpool and there was a plan.

“Arteta has got to show he’s got a plan going forward. It might take three years to try to challenge that top four or try to challenge for the league. But we know money does make it easier and that’s where the board come in.

“If they think they’ve got the right man, please give him a chance by giving him a little bit more money. I do think Arteta needs a couple of windows to get his own players in. Edu is going to be a big part of that.”

Arsenal Insider’s view

Arteta is the right man for the job – even if we drop out of the top half of the table this term. He has shown enough to say that he deserves a bit of time, and some money from the Kroenke’s wouldn’t be too bad either.

To be fair to our owners, they have been pretty generous since Wenger left. Unai Emery was given the money to sign the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney, William Saliba and Lucas Torreira among others.

Arteta has been given the money to bring in Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes as well, and all we can hope is that the Kroenke’s continue backing him on the market in the next two or three windows to give him every chance to succeed.
