Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’o were once teammates at Barcelona, but the Cameroonian has now fired shots at the World Cup winner for no apparent reason.
Henry is undoubtedly the greatest player to ever play for the Gunners. He was unstoppable on his day, and he’s still our record goalscorer. He is a true legend of the club, but Eto’o feels there was another Arsenal striker who was better than the Frenchman.

Samuel Eto’o fires shots at Arsenal legend Thierry Henry
Eto’o and Henry played together for two years at Barcelona. The duo shared the pitch 57 times and won both the Champions League and La Liga titles.
RANKING EVERY WORLD CUP GROUP ACCORDING TO THE FIFA RANKINGS
Henry definitely wasn’t as incredible at Barcelona as he was at Arsenal, but everybody in the world knew how good he was then. Young players look up to the legendary Frenchman even to this day – much more than people admire Eto’o, in our opinion.
That probably bothers the Cameroonian icon a bit, which may be why he has had a go at Henry.
Eto’o said in a ‘leaked video’ posted by Footballogue, as quoted by The Daily Mail: “I think Thierry Henry was not at the level of Anelka.
“Titi was good, but I knew players. I preferred other players. In any case, he was not at my level.”
“The luck or the bad luck that I had me, was not to play for France.
“Those who played in France had plus 70 per cent. It’s not because they were strong, but because France sells them better. They sold them to us and brought them up to our level.”

Thierry Henry vs Samuel Eto’o
Eto’o is absolutely convinced that Henry was not on his level. Let’s see what the records say.
The legendary Frenchman played 916 games for club and country throughout his career. He scored 411 goals, provided 207 assists and won 19 major trophies, including the World Cup and the European Championships.
Eto’o, on the other hand, played 842 games for club and country in his career. He scored 418 goals, provided 124 assists, and managed to win 17 major trophies, including two African Cups and three Champions League titles.
The numbers are definitely close and we’re not surprised that Eto’o thinks he was better than Henry. However, the legendary Frenchman was the more complete player and he absolutely dominated the toughest league in the world when he was here in England.
We’re definitely biased, but Henry was, is and will forever be better than Eto’o!
