Andrea Berta has not stopped working since joining Arsenal in March 2025.
The Italian arrived with big expectations following his excellent job at Atletico Madrid. Arsenal fans were all hoping for big things, and he well and truly delivered.
After signing eight new players in the summer and extending the contracts of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, Berta recently signed the Quintero twins, which has created a big buzz around the club.
Now, he is said to be keen on signing another talented player – Toni Fruk.
If you were Andrea Berta and could sign any player in the world right now, who would it be and why?
Toni Fruk’s agent says Arsenal want to sign him
Arsenal have scouts all over the world looking for players.
The Gunners have had good success signing talented youngsters, while their recruitment of older players has been magnificent as well.
Fruk is 24 already, so he doesn’t fall into the young players’ category, but Arsenal seem to have seen something in him that they really like.
Sport Klub revealed this week that negotiations are in ‘full swing’ for the Gunners to sign Fruk, and the player is expected to move to the Emirates ‘soon’.
Now, his agent, Andy Bara, has fuelled those rumours by confirming Arsenal’s interest.
He said, as per 24Sata: “Yes, it’s true, Arsenal want to bring him in.”

Who is Arsenal target Toni Fruk?
Fruk is a 24-year-old attacking midfielder who plays for HNK Rijeka and the Croatian national team.
Back in 2019, when he was still a teenager, Serie A side Fiorentina signed him for their academy, but he couldn’t make his way into the senior team there.
In 2023, Fruk returned to Croatia and joined Rijeka.
In 114 appearances for them, he has scored 29 goals and provided 31 assists in all competitions. This season, the midfielder has scored 10 goals, which is more than any Arsenal first-team player.
Is Toni Fruk the player Arsenal should sign in January 2026? If not, who is?
Fruk is clearly a talented player, but a jump from the Croatian top-flight to the Premier League leaders at the age of 24 feels unlikely.
Besides, Arsenal already have Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman in the number 10 role, so the last thing they need is another player in that position.
The Gunners may well admire Fruk, but we can’t see a world in which Berta signs him in January.
