Andrea Berta is set to seal his sixth signing of the summer at Arsenal in the form of Viktor Gyokeres, and is already turning his attention to adding one more to Mikel Arteta’s ranks.
Gyokeres will sign this week in a £63 million deal, and is expected to make his debut against Tottenham in Hong Kong on Thursday.
The Swede joins Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera through the door at London Colney.
The Gunners faithful still believe Arsenal need to acquire someone who can operate on the left-hand side of their attack, and it appears the club agree with this view, as they ramp up their interest in one specific target.

Arsenal fans call for Andrea Berta to sign Eberechi Eze after pre-season display
Eberechi Eze has reportedly told Crystal Palace he wants to join Arsenal, with the Gunners extremely keen on prying the Englishman away from Selhurst Park.
The 27-year-old enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season, netting 14 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.
Arsenal fans are excited by the prospect of Eze completing a switch to N5, although he’s currently still taking part in Palace’s pre-season fixtures, despite the transfer saga supposedly advancing.
Featuring in the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Crawley on Friday, the attacking midfielder produced an eye-catching run and shot that has prompted the Gunners faithful to urge Andrea Berta to act quickly and sign the player.
One fan wrote on X: “Eze in today’s friendly… Get him to the Emirates.”
Another supporter added: “Seen enough. Get him.”
One fan wrote: “Thank you for the advert; we have seen enough. Now send him home to us.”
Arsenal shouldn’t spend £68m on Eberechi Eze
Eze has a £68 million release clause, and many reports suggest Arsenal are willing to pay this fee.
While this may seem like a reasonable fee for someone who contributed to 16 goals in the Premier League last season, the Gunners should be trying to negotiate a significantly better deal and shouldn’t meet this asking price.
| Eberechi Eze’s Premier League Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 34 |
| Goals | 8 |
| Assists | 8 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.48 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.36 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.01 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 |
| Successful Take-ons per 90 | 2.33 |
Eze’s ability to carry the ball in central areas and take powerful shots would be of use to the Gunners, but there is no clear role for him in the team, and he likely only has a matter of seasons left in him at the top level.
Not likely to displace Martin Odegaard and not a natural winger, £68 million is a lot of money to spend on a player who may not be starting every single week.
Despite the fans’ excitement over a potential deal, Berta needs to be careful with potentially overpaying for the player.
