Arsenal are being linked with moves to sign several players ahead of the January transfer window.

The Gunners have a fantastic squad. After signing eight new players in the summer, they have at least two options in every position and are capable of going toe-to-toe with any club.

With many of their injured players like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes closing in on their comebacks, Arsenal don’t really need big additions in January.

However, Andrea Berta is keeping a close eye on young players, and a teenager is said to be of interest to Arsenal now – Christos Mouzakitis.

Arsenal face a strong battle to sign Christos Mouzakitis

Mouzakitis is expected to be a wanted man in 2026.

The 18-year-old, who currently plays for Olympiacos, is one of the biggest talents in Greece right now, and he is of interest to a number of clubs.

Area Napoli have revealed that Arsenal, Manchester United, Brighton, Aston Villa, AC Milan and Napoli are all keen to sign him in one of the next two transfer windows.

Mouzakitis, who has been branded as ‘the new Arda Guler‘ in his home country, is a midfielder who can play in all three central roles.

Arsenal could do with reinforcements in the middle of the park because Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are barely getting any rest.

Mouzakitis is definitely not a ready-made option, but he has the talent to become a star one day.

Berta seems to have identified him as a potential target for Arsenal, but whether he will make a move to sign him in January remains to be seen.

Edu Gaspar could ruin Arsenal’s move for Christos Mouzakitis

If Arsenal’s interest in Mouzakitis is indeed genuine, Berta will have to pick up the phone and contact his predecessor, Edu Gaspar.

That is because the Brazilian is the Global Sports Director of Evangelos Marinakis’ group of clubs, which includes Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos.

Mouzakitis is tied down to a contract at the Greek club until the summer of 2029, which puts them in a really strong position in potential transfer negotiations.

If Edu doesn’t want the youngster to go to Arsenal, he could easily play hardball in talks with Berta. That could ruin any potential deal for the Gunners.
