All eyes have been on Arsenal’s senior signings this summer, but the Gunners have also been busy at academy level too.

Indeed, Arsenal have signed up their new batch of scholars this summer, while they’ve made a youth signing in the shape of Callan Hamill.

Marli Salmon is one of Arsenal’s most exciting scholars too.

Of course, these are players for the future, so they won’t garner as much attention as the likes of Viktor Gyokeres or Martin Zubimendi, but they are important additions to the group at the Emirates.

Unfortunately, Arsenal have also recently missed out on an interesting youth target.

Will Wright looked set to join Arsenal at one point, but now, he’s headed to Liverpool instead.

Speaking on The Redmen TV, Paul Gorst has been discussing Liverpool’s move for Wright, and he says the Reds view the 17-year-old as a ‘very exciting’ young player.

Gorst shared some insight into how Liverpool view Wright.

According to the journalist, the Reds are looking to sign bright young British talents as a priority at this point, and they believe Wright is a very exciting young player.

“I think that has been a strategy over the past five years to get the best young British players, the change of the EU rules has sharpened the focus on the British Isles. Look at who they’ve brought in from there, Kaide Gordon, Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic was almost the last one from foreign soil,” Gorst said.

“He might make it or he might not, there’s a lot of work to be done at that level, but Liverpool feel he is a very exciting young player.”

Arsenal have their own exciting 17-year-old striker

Arsenal may have missed out on Wright, but the Gunners have their own exciting striker prospect who is the same age.

Indeed, Andre Harriman-Annous is showing plenty of promise in the Arsenal academy at the moment, as his stats at U18 level show.

Of course, at the age of just 17, the youngster has a long way to go before he can be considered a first-team candidate, but the early signs are certainly exciting.

Hale End remains one of the best academy systems in the country, and it surely won’t be long before Arsenal produce another striker who is as exciting as Will Wright.
