Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign a number of strikers over the years.

Mikel Arteta has been at the club for over five years, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only prolific centre-forward he has had at his disposal.

The Gunners tried to sign a new striker when the Gabon international was still at the club, and they have shown interest in each of the last few windows as well.

Yet, no new striker has arrived at Arsenal, but one of Arteta’s old targets could now suddenly become available — for free!

Former Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic could be signed for free

Arsenal fans know all about Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbia international was one of the best strikers in the Serie A a few years ago, and many felt he would go on to become a superstar.

Arteta was desperate to sign Vlahovic in January 2022 and even tabled a bid for him. But, the striker snubbed the Gunners and joined Juventus instead.

Vlahovic’s time in Turin has not been great at all, so much so that he could be pushed out of the club this summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Juventus could terminate Vlahovic’s contract to get rid of him in this window, even though he has a year left on his deal.

If that happens, the Serbian would become available on a free transfer, and we would be surprised if multiple clubs didn’t pounce on him then.

Should Arsenal sign Dusan Vlahovic if he’s available for free?

Arsenal are working hard on a new striker.

A deal for Benjamin Sesko has proved to be too difficult, so Andrea Berta has turned his full focus towards signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

Negotiations in Lisbon have not been easy either, so there is still a small chance that Arsenal could miss out on both Sesko and Gyokeres.

If that happens and Ollie Watkins’ price remains too high, Arsenal may have to consider signing Vlahovic, especially if he is available for free.

However, in an ideal world, Arsenal should stay away from the Juventus star and do everything in their power to sign Gyokeres.
