Arsenal are looking to secure their summer striker signing early in the transfer window, with Viktor Gyokeres still seen as one of the primary targets for the North London club.
Gyokeres enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season, netting 54 goals in 52 matches across all competitions.
This form has prompted interest from the Gunners, who view the Swede as one of the better options on the centre-forward market.
Arsenal are expected to move for either Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko, with Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta currently mulling over the two candidates.
Gyokeres is said to be available for £55 million, while RB Leipzig want the North Londoners to meet Sesko’s £67 million release clause, and these two fees could ultimately dictate which player they go for.

Berta is trying to keep the negotiations for Gyokeres quiet, as he looks to weaponise supposed Arsenal interest in other players in negotiations for the prolific number nine.
However, in the age of social media, constant speculation around transfers is inevitable, and it’s no different for Gyokeres.
The Sweden international appears to have hinted that a move to the Emirates is on the cards, whilst making a cameo appearance on Norwegian podcast Flymodus.
FaceTimed by podcast guest and his former teammate Leo Ostigard, Gyokeres was coy on his future at Sporting when initially asked about his next destination.
However, as Ostigard went to end the call, he said to the 26-year-old striker, “Viktor, great talking to you. Text me when everything is signed and sorted at Arsenal.”
“Yeah, yeah, sure,” Gyokeres responded.
While this may have merely been a throwaway comment from the player, he did little to dispute the idea that he may be going to Arsenal.
This certainly doesn’t confirm that he’s off to N5, but it definitely seems to suggest that he’s had contact with the Premier League giants about a potential move.

Inevitably, this response has prompted Gunners fans to speculate about Gyokeres’ potential move.
The Arsenal faithful are convinced that this means he’s certain to join Arteta’s squad, with one fan writing on X: “Big green light! We are signing him.”
Another added: “Bring me that monster…. He’s already given us the green light.”
Meanwhile, another supporter wrote: “Bro already signed in his mind.”
Whether or not the clip actually means anything remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Arsenal are definitely seriously contemplating signing the lethal finisher.
