Viktor Gyokeres is now the seventh most valuable striker in Europe following his debut season in the Premier League with Arsenal.

The striker had a very mixed first season at Arsenal as he managed 21 goals in all competitions, despite producing some questionable performances.

But there is no doubt that his goals played a key part in helping fire the Gunners to their first Premier League title in 22 years.

The Swede’s goals have now seen his price tag change, proving that Andrea Berta was probably right to sign him.

Viktor Gyokeres’ price tag has already increased at Arsenal

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres’ price tag has already increased from £63 million to £85 million in less than 12 months, according to CIES Football Observatory.

Last summer, Arsenal signed Gyokeres for £63 million from Sporting CP, as they finally signed a proper out-and-out number nine.

During his first season in N5, the striker netted 21 times as he helped fire the Gunners to the Premier League title.

The 27-year-old’s first season at Arsenal has certainly divided opinion, as despite his goals, his performances at times were questionable.

Arsenal are already considering signing another striker, with the likes of Julian Alvarez being linked with a move to the North London club.

Arsenal can only sign Julian Alvarez if one of Viktor Gyokeres or Kai Havertz leaves. Who would you sell?

But regardless of whether someone like Alvarez arrives, Arsenal are ready to stick by Gyokeres and give him another season at the Emirates Stadium.

Gyokeres was dropped to the bench for the Champions League final, with Kai Havertz leading the line for the Gunners.

That probably gives quite a good indication of how Mikel Arteta views the striker, although the case can also be made for him working better against different opponents.

But overall, Arsenal fans will be pretty pleased with Gyokeres’ debut season at the club, especially after his involvement in helping them win the title.
